The company is exploring for nickel deposits on its Langmuir property near Timmins, Ontario; for nickel-gold-copper on its Cleaver and Douglas properties; and for molybdenum and rare earth elements at recently acquired Desrosiers property.
So let's digest this little announcement about doing a VTEM on Langmuir.
""The VTEM survey represents a significant step towards the development of the Langmuir project," said Randy Miller, President of the Corporation. "The survey will provide valuable information as to the mineral potential of the property and will enable the Corporation to fully develop the potential of the property."
So we as longterm ISM shareholders know that they have done considerable drilling (detail in-fill and step-out drilling) on the property in select areas as per Kian Jensen. There are also numerous areas where they have not drilled. Is it Randy's goal to prove up more targets that may compliment drilled areas or are they going to where they are wanting to show new conductive bodie? In the meantime are they confirming what drilling has told us? Will the VTEM used in definition? Or exploration for new targets?
What we often read when viewing drilling results and updates are these two statements.
1)" Step-out drilling, as well as in-fill drilling, continues as the total length and depth of the mineralization has not yet been identified."
2)" the mineralization zone remains open at depth and at length"
What areas are not drilled or explored in Langmuir? Obviously they do not want to blow money or waste it on duplication of covered areas. Will this help to explore or reveal what they refer to above?
We also know that surrounding adjacent properties may contain some exciting resources. GCR latest VTEM finds and modelling images say so. ( BTW can't wait to see what their drills say!)
"The main objectives for the Company during 2007 and 2008 are to continue outlining the known nickel mineralization at the Langmuir No.2 Mine - North Zone and the Langmuir No.1 Mine and to locate other sources of nickel mineralization in one of several horizons with the largest covering a strike length of approximately 5 km."
We know from reading what Darcell had said and what he inferred from quoting Harron as well.
This valuation does not attempt to compare the Company with other exploration projects nearby including Golden Chalice, Liberty Mines, First Nickel, and Starfire Minerals. The area appears to have large structures that extend across claims. The entire area may become a target for development by a multi-national mining company, which suggests that a higher in-situ Ni valuation is warranted. If the Company doubles this reports estimate of Ni at Langmuir through detailed drilling, then it is likely to become a target. The methodology applied to estimating Ni at Langmuir 1 did not attempt to “fill-in” gaps in core sample data, where the summarized report excluded a length between reported samples. It is the opinion of the writer that the effect would be that Ni estimated at Langmuir 1 is low. From the Jensen report (p.48): “Detailed mapping and interpretation indicates that both the Langmuir No.1 and No.2 deposits occur at the same stratigraphic position on opposite limbs of an anticline / syncline pair and implies that the favourable stratigraphy may be repeated at several locations on the property.” In the author’s opinion, this should be interpreted as meaning that the above Ni poundage estimates are a starting point, and that significantly more Ni is highly likely to be found at the Company’s Langmuir area properties after they drill into the 40-60 anomalies they are targeting over the next year." From the company website: "Explored Potential Apart from the locations previously mined or physically tested, several geophysical anomalies have been located from geophysical work carried out recently on the properties. The expected nickel target size for this type of disseminated nickel sulphide body is in the order of 1-1.5 million tons grading 1.5 -2.5% nickel and 3-6 grams per ton platinum group elements. Massive sulphides grade 12% nickel; disseminated sulphides grading possibly as high as 4.5% nickel, present a very attractive exploration target. There is sufficient exploration potential on the property to cover several million-ton targets." From last August's company update we read: "Working Capital With the completion of its recent private placement, the Company has working capital of approximately $38 million. On a fully diluted basis and assuming the exercise of all of the outstanding warrants (approx. 75 million shares fully diluted), the Company will have working capital of approximately $57.5 million. These reserves are more than sufficient to continue and expand the Company's development of both existing and newly acquired properties. In that regard, the Company is in the process of expanding the Langmuir drilling program including the addition of both surface and deep drilling rigs. It is the intention of the Company to have multiple additional drills in operation by the end of the summer and to increase the exploration costs from the current level of approximately $275,000 per month to $1,000,000 per month. That exploration will extend onto the properties recently acquired in the vicinity of Timmins, Ontario." We do know they have mapped out some areas from past surveys. I like that the North zone is relatively untouched, that the deep drilling really hasn't been revealed. That the GCR finds are not too far off either? Lutha is up there as well? "The map below illustrates the location of Inspiration Mining Corporation’s original mining claim package that contains the Langmuir No.1 and No.2 Mines and the recently acquired Lutha property. The map also shows the numerous electromagnetic conductors and the overburden basal till nickel geochemical anomalies." Then there is the Langmuir No.2 area and the North zone. ( Lutha is beyond that) "The map below illustrates the detail location map of the Langmuir No.2 Mine area with a composite of the eight levels of underground mine workings and the ore zones, the location of the electromagnetic anomalies, the historical overburden basal till geochemical nickel anomalies (contour values are in ppm Ni), and the approximate location of the historical diamond drill holes completed by Noranda, INCO and Timmins Nickel Inc. "
Even though production has occurred and a number of test holes have been drilled, significant portions of the 864 hectares of the claims have yet to be tested. Historically, even those tests did not include assays for the platinum group elements, which are now known to be present. Even more interesting, what testing and extraction that did occur was relatively near the surface (generally no deeper than 75 meters, with only one going to the depth of 450 meters. As noted, deposits of this area are classified as Kambalda-type (See Footnote 1 above). That experience, combined with nearby recoveries in the Timmins district, indicates recoveries could go as deep as over 3,000 meters.
