As we all know and can see, it's a buyers market, as such I think they would/should just sit "somewhere" in the depth and let the sellers come to them. That way they maximize their purchasing power and effectively "buy at the low".... Our money well spent.
If it were me and I was charged with the task of acquiring some 10% of the float in one year, you can bet I would rather spend the company's funds at 70 or 80 cents/share now, rather than in the dollar or two dollar ranges later.
Judging by the way things have panned out, it looks to be more like a backstop than something to take out all stock in the market on an ongoing daily basis (and drive up the price in doing so)
