Not a lot of buying as you say Whaler, but why at 55 and 60 when they could have had it lower a few trading days before? I think it was you that wondered out loud recently if they could be using the buyback to support the price. That does not seem to me to be plausible, as the price paid could only have a very short term impact at best, IMHO. Better to take the shares out of the market at a 10 or 20% lower price.
On the other hand it is better than the 63 cents the SP hit today.
On another note, I don't think the company would be purchasing stock just prior to an announcement. So I think that this purchase likely means that there is unlikely to be news in the short term, as some have speculated this little runup in SP might be signalling. IMHO.
