It seems to me that our board leader attempts to foster civil conversation, often giving latitude to those with differing points of view. The problem here is not with our board leader - it is the individuals who chose to argue (not discuss!) their point by repeatedly violating the rules. Making personal accusations does not foster civil discussion either. I would say that accusing whaler of being paid to do what he does here is hitting below the belt, as the only compensation he receives is a continued verbal assault by a few individuals that do not like his opinion.
I do believe that it is important to get all sides out in any discussion, or else it ceases to be a discussion.
I guess I have to agree with you. There are no sides to a discussion when you turn it into an argument whereby you attempt to violently project your opposing view point on someone else.
I have seen numerous false accusations thrown at him and in my opinion, whaler has shown a lot of class throughout this process. IMO he has set a great example for us to follow.
