European ferro-chrome prices pick up as trade activity rises
Ferrochrome trading activity in Europe has increased at the beginning of the second quarter, after a relatively quiet Q1, sources tell Steel Business Briefing. “We are expecting a busier Q2, and prices have already begun to rise,” one trader says.
The price for low carbon FeCr currently stands at around $1.95/pound, with some trades reaching $2.00/lb, up from $1.90/lb last month. High carbon FeCr has experienced the largest rise, up to $1.15-1.20/lb from $0.98-1.00/lb in March.
