Zimbabwe has stopped exports of chromite ore, to direct all production to smelters. They want to export only ferrochrome, not unrefined ore.
There is going to be a big demand for lumpy ore & pellets to supply smelters elsewhere - renewed/heightened interest in our ore is very probable. Go Zimbabwe!
Certainly the price is going up, the economics of mining in the ROF are looking bettter & better, and end users are looking for alternative supplies. Likely there will be room/demand enough to open more than just a single mine in the area. Could be, for example, a mine operation on Big Daddy supplying direct shipped ore and another mine at Black Thor to supply CLFs smelter.
