A bidding war, really?
Who would bid for a minority share of Big Daddy, of which the majority holder confirmed that it will be mined in 20 years or so from now?
I think that KWG'S chromite is already Cliffs' "property", and that a friendly take-over is just a matter of time. Cliffs is not in a hurry, why should they? (Though I do not understand well the implication discussed earlier on this forum, about the 2012 JV deadline (???).)
I also think that the price has also been sort-of-agreed between the parties or they have a very good idea of it, which should be based, I believe, on the chromite resource value only.
There are some uncertainties here, including the closing of a large flow-trough financing for DDI, and a very large RR private-public financing for CCC (seek for the CRA ruling to assess RR expenses as FT is far from granted...). However, if things go ahead as planned, I speculate as follows: DDI will be distributed to KWG shareholders next Fall, well financed, CCC will probably end as a joint property of FN interests, + private and public interests, and Cliffs will friendly grab the 85% remaining shares of KWG, at a price between a sad 20 and a decent 30 cents (or to an unexepected unbelievable dreaming 50 cents!!!).
Just talking, guys (and gals)!
