Folks,
"Aerial view of Esker staked for Railway Corridor" has just been added to KWG website/Photo Gallery (courtesy of KWG's Bruce).

Now we know what that esker looks like in the winter. Snaking above the swamp, with spruce on both side... and the leafless trees in the middle are poplars/aspens? Must be nice in the fall when they turn from green to yellow, a perfect route for a "fall colours in Ontario Far North" tourist train (along with fishing, hunting, canoeing,..).
This portion of the esker looks slightly raised above the swamp, but flat and wide enough for train and cars plus transmission lines, etc...Excellent choice for a corridor.
Challenge: Can anyone locate this portion (actually any portion would be fine, but around Kitchie/Fishtrap Lakes would be interesting... a recent claim) on a satellite picture? Any satellite imagery expert in the house to shed some light on the significance of the rust colour "ribbons" (against a predominantly green landscape) on the current Google Earth picture?
