His name is Forrest, in keeping with the planting background. Sometimes I call him the Black Forrest. You might even find some photos of him in the planting galleries from the early 2000's. He's getting a bit long in the tooth these days, however, and isn't out in the field anymore.

And the Marlboro part was from the area that I most frequently worked in (outside Hinton, Alberta) when I first signed up to Stockhouse in probably the late 1990's. The "dog" part of the handle wasn't actually related to Forrest. It was a different play on words - the Marlboro Man changed to the Marlboro dog. Although perhaps not entirely appropriate, since I'm not a smoker.

Yes, usually busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest. But I wouldn't have it any other way ...
