Hello Laura B,
Congrats for having a good memory and record keeping. For me the latter is hopeless, but I do have a vague memory of the analysis of the stat after the vote. To recap:
- simple majority: passed easily at 88% (215.3M Yes, 28.5M No, excluding management and insider CLF)
- 2/3 (66.7%) test: Got only 62.4% with CLF voted No with its 111.8 M share block, 111.8/373.5 = just below 30% which is not good enough (less than 1/3) to block the resolution.
Assuming that the vote turn-out is better this time with the majority supporting the resolution then CLF alone cannot stop it (CLF percentage would drop significantly below 30%, if the YES votes are higher). Hopefully, KWG has a good campaign going to solicit more YES votes from shareholders.
I have voted YES for my block of shares and those I have control over.
Good luck to all KWG longs this time around,
