Black Horse deposit has an Inferred Resource Now 85.9 Million Tonnes @ 34.5%
Hey goodheart,
So many good questions you raised.
Moe was quoted for saying in the same article: "Try to get a 1000 tonnes out of RoF today". Let's assume 1 truck load = 50 tonnes for discussion purposes. So, 1000 tonnes/50 = 20 truck loads (math is good so far?) which is not so bad to haul out the RoF, on ice road? But, that's a lot of core sample material to produce.
I would say try something like a 1-tonne bulk sample (of the RoF chromite ore) first to prove the feasibility of process in a pilot scale. That would probably be enough for an initial demonstration to show that the process is worth millions, for the purposes of valuation of KWG (this company is getting more and more expensive).
If required, it would be quite feasible (easy?) to lift a 1-tonne bulk sample out of the RoF. A Chinook CH-47 can lift about 3 tonnes, and there is always a Hercules C-130 which can do a 20- tonne load (say 1 small truck load). Question is would this (10-20 tonne sample) be good enough for a commercial scale demo? I would say "good enough" for a "semi-commercial" scale for RoF chromite.
There was a Herc (First Air) landing on icy Koper Lake, back in 2009 (Not sure who hired this Herc, NOT?)
BTW, anyone know the names of the song and the singer in this video? Very nice tune.

and take off in - 40C (be patient, don't walk away from the computer, the Herc will take off, again from Koper Lake).
Presumably, if Moe has enough cash in his back pocket he may be able to charter a Herc for half a day?
For larger commercial demo, let's leave that to South Africa.
