Black Horse deposit has an Inferred Resource Now 85.9 Million Tonnes @ 34.5%
Even though before pulling their people out months/(over 1year?) ago CLF said it can build a brand new construction camp at BT if they decide to go ahead with BT mine. This is certainly logical, but CLF has postponed BT project indefinitely, and the sale of this "listening post" would seem to give a signal that (a) CLF is not active anymore in the ROF, and (b) to get out as much cash as it can... to pay for those law suits and Appeal? It must be a good deal for NOT to get this (preuamably) "fire-sale" acquisition from CLF. In addition, NOT can also provide jobs for former CLF workers who are quite familiar with the area and have been eating in the same cook-house with NOT people. Good opportunity for NOT to employ experienced workers who could end up sleeping in their previous quarter. Nice!
So, it's full-steam (choo choo whistle) ahead for NOT, starting with Ni and later with chromite.
Question: What would happen if KWG and NOT decided to have a JV for BH, using the same ramp and facility to extract chromite? Just wondering if the NOT mining licence can "easily" be extended to cover extraction of BH chromite as well?
For shipping out the chromite they would certainly need a choo choo. By default NOT would be dragged in (as a willing partner) to support the N-S corridor for RR (and a small service road, just big enough to squeeze in the narrowest sections of the corridor. If they do the train fast enough, NOT can also use it to ship out Ni concetrate (still cheaper than trucking). The N-S service road could be used as a back-up scheme, just in case the E-W road corridor hit some snag. Who knows if someone wants to object!
