Irish,
Thanks for the links about KWG press scrum just before the debate in Thunder Bay and CBC and CTV coverage.
There will be another one for 3 June in Toronto where all 3 leaders will participate. Bet that Hudak will pull a rabbit out of his hat before or during the debate. It sounds like a bidding war:
- Wynne: $1B commited with or without Feds help, but her $1B does not seem to provide any transporation infrastructure to the heart of the RoF where the future mines are located. They are for expanding the highways from Thunder Bay to Nipigon and Parry Sound to Sudbury to provide better road service from Thunder Bay and Sudbury to Toronto. Wrong emphasis.
- Horwath: More than $1B if needed. No details so far.
- Hudak: ? He may endorse Frank's plan for creating a Port Authority/Development Corporation as described in KWG proposed legislation (a self-finance scheme). He may throw in some provincial money, say $1.1B, with matching funds from the Feds. Get a Federal Minister (e.g. Rickford) to give some hint about Feds more than willing, etc...just before the 3 June debate. And that package should be a winner.
