Very nice instructions for staking claims. Thanks for posting.
The instructions are as crystal clear complete with diagrams and examples. One item related to the starting time @ 8:00am in your post, is the following requirement:
"date and time of start and completion must be inscribed on No. 1 post".
These guys are professional stakers so they would know this simple rule, by heart...and Ministry's staff should know what to look for when they give the official award of the claims to KWG.
I also would expect that with a smart phone these guys could take a picture of the post with all the inscriptions on the posts to send them back to KWG for record keeping, with a courtesy cc to the Ministry for info (with date and time stamps on both the pictures and e-mails). The Ministry may not accept these as official submission, but may want to go out there to the bush to verify the staking evidence themselves (and do the same thing, taking pictures of posts to bring back, if there are any disputes). These days there are GPS-equiped cameras which take pictures, with which the company can construct a map showing all relevant information, including the locations of the posts along with the pictures, stakers, helpers, etc...
In summary, I don't see a good reason for appealing the decision of the Ministry to give KWG Koper Lake claims the official status. BTW, the claims belonged to BMK which allowed them to lapse. NOT has many more claims in the RoF anyway, so why bother with an appeal which would not have a chance to succeed. It may end up with having to pay KWG for legal and other costs.
There must be something valuable underneath, since KWG is more than willing to "donate" the surface rights, just like the N-S corridor, to a "Port Authority".
