Pipelines for both chromite slurry going south and natural gas going north certainly seem cost effective solutions, and likely to be implemented. A rail line could still be built, but will cost more and take much longer, though several mines could use it at the same time.
Noront did suggest a shorter pipeline, going west to join a road, for their nickel, but seems to have dropped that as an option, perhaps in hopes of having government finance a road. A government financed road is cheaper for any company than any company financed transport method.
KWG keeps throwing out good ideas, to be met with zero response from our Dear Leaders, perhaps because there are no hints of jobs-for-the-boys after their political careers end.
