You are correct the N.W. Passage was navigated this past fall....BUT this is a long ,long distance from Moosonee and Webequie... as it originated at Deception Bay, which is on the eastern side of Hudson's bay and not even close to Jame's Bay.
How would they get the ore to its port?
They would have to use an ice breaker down Hudson's Bay into Jame's Bay to get to Moosonee
This would be costly and raise a lot of other questions such as polar bear habit as they have to go onto the ice for food (seals, sea lions, and walrus)...plus other enviromental concerns such as beluga whales and Narwhols.
