Message: Chromite prices

Prices vary depending on quality and the supply/demand situation at any given moment. There are no fixed 'market prices'. However, chromite of similar grade to the ROF ore is currently going for around $150US a ton, which is $189 Canadian at today's exchange rate.

With fuel costs presently low by comparison with the last few years, this looks to me quite high enough to make a chromite mine profitable.

This is even more so if the product exported is ferro-chrome produced with the energy & cost saving KWG natural gas process.

I've noticed several opinions lately, all equating "low commodity prices" with low prices for chromite & ferro-chrome, and saying that the ROF chromite is therefore 'uneconomic at present" Sorry, doesn't look that way to me.

In my personal opinion.
