Where did you see or read that from the minister?

I was reading how the oceans are the next untouched bonanza for critical minerals extraction. Good grief. Leave the oceans alone. We already use them as dumping ground. If they die, we die. There are plenty of resources to be had and still found above water. I know, let's look at the Ring of Fire. Sarcastic! 

There are now 40 million people in Canada. Latest statistics. Out of that 4.9% identified as indigenous. Ontario's Indigenous population is 22% of the 4.9% and 3% of Ontario population. Out of that, less than 1% is the reason we are where we are today are probably for the next foreseeable future. Criminal IMO. 

Annual federal government budget for indigenous affairs will rise from $25 billion, 2021-2022, to $35.5 billion in 2026-2027. Increase of 42%. 

This project with all the benefits that it will bring to indigenous and non indigenous, provincial and federal governments, revenues and prosperity, jobs, better access to remote communities that experience hardships from the lack on roads. I could go on but you get the picture. Canada of course would benefit. But alas here we are. Why? As a Canadian I ask why? Please don't bring up colonialism or reconciliation. We are talking about moving forward not looking backwards for reasons to stop moving forward. I'd better stop here. 

Well I've been here for so long now I'm here to see it play out. I'm hopeful but not betting the house on it.
