Aspire Talks With Canadian Wind Energy Developer Keewatin's Chris Craddock

Interview by Todd M. Pitcher, Managing Partner of Aspire Clean Tech Communications

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/07/09 -- Aspire Clean Tech Communications today announced an interview with Canadian wind energy developer Keewatin Windpower's (OTCBB: KWPW) CEO Chris Craddock.

Key Highlights of the Interview Include:

-- Discussion on Keewatin's upcoming acquisition of Sky Harvest, and

-- Keewatin's 150MW wind project in development, and the aggregate 300MW in planned wind projects post Sky Harvest acquisition.

Canada's wind power market grew 28.3% year-over-year last year, eclipsing the 2,000MW milestone to post capacity at year end of 2,369MW. Despite the current macroeconomic crisis, the Canadian Wind Energy Association projects that this year installations will exceed last year's installed capacity which would put it at more than 3,000MW installed. The Global Wind Energy Council recently reported that the aggregate provincial targets for installed wind capacity, "would, if achieved, results in a minimum of 12,000MW of installed wind energy capacity in Canada by 2015."

Research Capital's Matt Gowing told Aspire recently that he expects the pace for wind installed capacity to quicken in Canada, pointing to the recent proposal for a feed-in-tariff in Ontario, which would be the first such framework in North America. Gowing said that other provinces will be watching this development closely and if a feed-in-tariff is successful in Ontario, we can reasonably expect that to be adopted by the other provinces. The Ontario proposal calls for ยข13.5kWh for onshore wind and could be in place by this summer.
