Creating value through Exploration and Development in the Sierra Madre of Mexico
The term "Bread and Circuses" comes from Roman History. During periods of increasing social instability, that, by the way, were often associated with corruption of the money supply by those in power, the concept of Bread and Circuses arose. Some historians credit certain rulers as having originated the idea, but that it was the brainchild of one particular person is highly unlikely. More likely, such an idea grew out of certain members' of the ruling classes understanding of the innate corruptabilty of human nature, and the weakness that lives denied struggle would inevitably develop.
There was an understanding that the quest for pleasure rather than the quest for meaning could somehow get the upper hand involving human motivations, and how such taken-advantage-of people, so compromised by their own shortsighted desires, could be made to favor food and fun over their deeper spiritual needs and ultimately their own freedom.
Such an idea must have developed slowly over generations otherwise it might not have had the power it ultimately did.
Fast Forward to 2008. There is a MAJOR SIGNIFiCANT WORLD EVENT going on right now with Russia and Georgia and all people care about is a bunch of people over in China kicking a soccer ball around. Human suffering aside, Russia getting control of the state of Georgia and the South Caucasus Pipeline and dominating this corridor is of almost unmentionable significance, and certainly much more important than what Michael Phelps listens to on his iPod.
So history does repeat itself. The gold market crashes because the circus is going on over in China. But the bread will soon be running out. There are limits to any diversion. The endgame is rapidly approaching. Gold and silver must go much, much higher.
