Creating value through Exploration and Development in the Sierra Madre of Mexico
The eye sees all things well but itself. To understand the storm from within the storm is incredibly difficult. It is easy for the outside observer to sit back and tell everyone involved in the hurricane what needs to be done and what should have been done a la CNN during Hurricane Katrina, but let me tell you, I personally was in Hurricane Katrina. Read about St. Bernard Parish, Chalmette Medical Center. It was utterly destroyed, and I was inside the building with 89 sick patients, panicking nurses and confused doctors.
I really have very little time for people who tell me what should have been done or could have been done there, because I was there and did what needed to be done, and it was not easy or simple at the time.
We are in the midst of an historic collapse of financial markets. The stock market doesn't understand what is going on right now. Those involved with the stock market, by and large, are normal people, like you and I, who have suddenly been confronted with a very strange and "maybe" dangerous situation, and they don't understand it. That is why the market is behaving like it is. It is not because of mass panic. That will come. Right now it is because of mass confusion.
When you look at the numbers we are talking about here, I am not sure any of us really can understand them. They are just too, too big. I mean what does a trillion really mean? Think of this: a million seconds is 1 week and 4 days approximately. A trillion seconds is 31,346 YEARS.
We have lived in comfort for so long that we have a hard time imagining something truly bad happening to us. Indeed what is happening is so bad, many of us might not be able to imagine it. Like a child whose mind suppresses the memories of sexual abuse, because such memories are so potentially damaging perhaps to growth and continued existence, we too put out of our thoughts those things that tend to pull us out of our seemingly safe comfort zones.
The child's repressed memories do not negate the reality of what has happened to that child. Nor will people's stubborn refusals to see, stop what is about to happen. And it is going to be very, very bad...for most.
Those of us not making preparations, not thinking or rather simply without the life experiences or previous life experiences that would enable us to see the terrible without denying its "realness" (including some of us with very high I.Q.'s) will suffer the most.
You are all very fortunate to be here, but have you ever wondered why you are here. Wherever you come from, whatever you know, you have done or been somewhere that has brought you, that has allowed you to be here now at this Agoracom board and be a part of this. You are being allowed to see something that most do not see, and you are able to look at it.
Some of you even reading this will fail because you will fail to believe that you deserve to see what you are seeing and you will fall off. But I am here to tell you that you are here for a reason. I don't know what that reason is, but you are not here by luck.
The circumstances that are happening around us right now are too large, too important to allow anyone who doesn't belong to belong. You have found Kimber as have I. I am about to thrive in an environment where many, many others will fail and find great misery. I know why this will happen. I have important things I must go on and do.
You do also or you would not be here. I suggest you take this chance and become as involved with this company as you can.
There is a tide in the affairs of men.
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat,
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose our ventures.
