Ranger, Of course this problem is not confined to the US, but the dollar is water that I presently swim in, so that's how I'm operating right now. The dollar is NOT LIKE all other fiat currencies, however. Bretton Woods insured that. The dollar is no ordinary fiat currency. It has value as a currency, but ALSO, and this is key, as a ticket to get into the entire fiat currency amusement park. With such a large number of transactions being done around the world in dollars, people have to buy dollars JUST TO BE INVOLVED IN THE GAME. Understand this because it is VERY IMPORTANT. It gives the dollar the ability to hold onto its world reserve currency status much, much longer than it would be able to otherwise. We are very close to the whole thing not working anymore.
