Great post Sitting Bull
One of your best ever. I havent posted anything for quite a while, but I'm still holding Kimber and havent sold a single share. I have just found that reading the posts on Agoracom on a daily basis to be too much. Too much he said, she said. Too much speculation. Too much worry and doubt. Too much noise. I have found the gold bull much easier to ride by not concerning myself with what people are posting. I have found it a lot easier to sit tight, knowing I'm right.
I check the sec.gov site every quarter. Even thought Jim Puplava cant talk about it, he is still accumulating as evidenced by the SC 13D/A General statement of acquisition of beneficial ownership. He's accumulating in his own account, his wife's account and that of his family trust. That for me speaks volumes of his commitment to kimber with such a heavy investment for his nearest and dearest.
I do have a few complaints with how Kimber is being managed. Jim always recommends that investors go to the company website to learn about a company. The kimber website is a let down - not a single powerpoint presentation. I cant find anything that tells me what they are doing now, where they are going in the future, how they are going to get there and what is the time line.
Another complaint is about increasing resources. The aim of kimber I thought was to prove up as many oz in the ground as possible. In 2007 they had around 2MM oz measured and indicated. Then they went and did their study on the high grade resource, but even now 3 years on there is still around 2MM oz, only no longer measured and indicated....now we are back to inferred resources albeit at a higher grade. What is going on with that? we never get explainations. Was that according to plan or was that a stuff up?
Pericones - dont get me started. With a new property your first drill holes should be where you think you will get the most impressive results. The first set of results were terrible. Who is calling the shots on the geology within kimber? I find the lack of progress on the geology a let down.
I do take solace in the fact the Keith Baron was once on the board of directors and he seems to think kimber has the goods. He is a geologist with an impressive track record. Why did he leave kimber? if he thinks Kimber has the gold then why not hire him for a bit of consulting work on where and how to prove it up.
Is Eric King still a major shareholder? why doesnt he do a bit of Kimber name dropping on his webcasts?
Those are some of the issues that frustrate me. However, Kimber sits on a huge package of land in a very classy mining neighbourhood. It has been a producing mine in the past and there's still plenty left. Apart from gold, there's a nice amount of silver there too which should increase in value at a greater rate than gold. We have Jim Puplava to guide the company through the financial aspects. Jim is no fool and has shareholder value at the forefront of his mind. It causes me pain to see such potential for kimber and yet at the same time I see what I consider to be blunders from certain aspects of the kimber management. If anyone from kimber reads this....know that your shareholders are starved for information. What is going on guys? what are you work on, where are you going, what is the time line. You dont need to put the info in a press release. Just put it up on the website for all to see please.
That's it for me for a while. I'm off back to my bunker, internet disconnected.
