Mikey if you were to go with the capital loss route.

1) You have to sell

2) To capture a loss you have to stay out of the stock for 30 days before buying it back. If you planned on buying it back

3) A capital loss can be as valuable as a gain. Do not forget they can be banked and applied against gains elsewhere.
