Maybe I can help? Here's the nuts and bolts of this situation

"This promotion is achieved as follows:

  • A poster must hold the rank of Vice President or President
  • Their rating must be at least 3.5
  • Has accumulated a considerable amount of activity points within a Hub (typically, it translates to approximately 100 posts on a Hub)

Whaler has contacted us privately requesting to be removed. Our technical team is working on a fix; which will prevent Whaler from attaining Hub Leader Authority on this Hub only. For the interim we will continue to remove his authority manually until our technical team can patch in this "restriction".

I believe that to qualify for the auto promotion I have to come in as a president or vice. Any visiting president or VP would meet the first criteria. If they had a rating of 3.5 or better they again fit the next criteria.

lastly it is now apparent that with each post (aka activity) I am automatically promoted to hub leader. On working days you will likely see the Agora website folks pull me off of that title manually after each occurrence. There had been a patch thrown in that might help their troubleshooting but in fact it kept me from being able to post. All in all, the work has been helpful in getting these guys to the point that they may have to make substantial code changes.

Good old autopilot is taking over just as it was meant to do originally.

From what I can determine, if I decided I wanted to populate the GCR forum with posts and activity I may see the same sort of promotion there too. I guess if I hit the "considerable" sort/levels of activity, then yes it could happen anywhere else.

There are essentially three factors and pre-requisites to fulfill for auto to kick in.

It's how I understand it. Hope I am correct.
