Wanderer,
The 6 rules work for me. If someone does not adhere to the 6 rules, the post can go. I think some reasonable leeway should be given for some humour, etceter. I still laugh at Whaler saying his avocado green stove might be coming back in style after I reported that stainless steel appliances were on their way out.
I also feel that a posters history should be taken into account. We have had 1 or 2 posters on this board that do nothing more than stir the pot. After repeated warnings, they continue. I think the postings of someone that is lending nothing constructive, just tries to cause problems, and has no intention of changing, should be met with little tolerance.
On the other hand, the posts of someone who may slip up from time to time out of frustration should be given some discretion.
Let's be clear, this issue is largely being discussed now because of the situation with Wolfie. I had him on ignore for months because I was tired of him opening the door, throwing in a grenade and leaving. As a hub leader I don't think it is responsible of me to have anyone on ignore. As he has shown no respect for the forum or the people in it, and he has demonstrated no intention to change, I delete his posts or report them to Agoracom as soon as I detect a violation of the rules. I have also very clearly and directly told him to stop this nonsense but he does not. Frankly, I don't know why Agoracom has not banned him.
As hub leaders, we should not have to spend time on this kind of nonsense, and I think it is quite reasonable to set limits on our patience. If a poster does not heed a warning and sieze the opportunity to change, he/she should be treated accordingly.
Don't worry, you are doing a great job. This board is great except for a weed or two that need to be pulled.
Cheers,
Bluenoser
