..salaried staff are being offered severance packages. The four hundred plus will likely not cause any staffing problems as all capital projects were cancelled. Vale is apparently looking to cut 80,000 lbs ( 40 tons ) in 2009. Union employees will be looking for pension offers before the contract expires in May 09. Traps
