Liberty Commences Production at the McWatters Nickel Mine

Edmonton, Alberta CANADA, November 24, 2009 /FSC/ - Liberty Mines Inc. (LBE - TSX), is pleased to announce that it has commenced non-commercial production from the McWatters nickel mine near Timmins Ontario. Mining was initiated at a high grade zone on the 85m level. Similar grade zones at the 155m level are scheduled to be in production at 500 tonnes per day during the last half of December 2009 when access to the mineralization and the ventilation raise are completed. Blast-hole stoping or sub level caving of the balance of the underground part of the mine is scheduled to commence in March/April 2010. Production at that time will increase to over 2000 tonnes per day. Ore will be stock piled as necessary to feed the Redstone nickel concentrator near maximum capacity. Work to complete the commissioning of the third ball mill will re-commence in December 2009 to enable concentrating of at least 1600 tonnes of mineralization per day. Commercial production is expected to be declared for January 1, 2010.

Gary Nash, President and CEO of Liberty commented: "Commencing production at a new mine is a milestone for any company to achieve. Our mining team has worked diligently to achieve this goal under very difficult financial conditions. We thank Jilin Jien Nickel Industry Co., Ltd. and the many firms who patiently worked with us to make this a reality."
