Oct 1 (Reuters) - Liberty Mines Inc said its Redstone nickel mill processed 69 percent more tonnes sequentially and it sees a further increase over the next quarter, sending shares of the Canadian nickel producer up nearly 20 percent.

The company, which processed 95,587 tonnes at Redstone in the third quarter, said the Shaw Dome nickel belt in Ontario was under explored and that there was potential for more nickel discoveries.

Liberty, which appointed Peter Caldbick as Vice President Exploration, also operates the McWatters nickel mine and the Hart nickel property in the Shaw Dome area.

Shares of the Edmonton, Alberta-based company were up nearly 20 percent at 21.5 Canadian cents Friday morning on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
