DRE is a concept that affects intimately the future of Utility companies here in the U.S. and world wide.  As they respond to a changing energy environment they will be building many new facilities that one way or another are connected to DRE changes.  Home Solar arays are only a small part of the DRE scene.  Utility companies have to make changes in order to adjust to the huge changes that are coming during this century.  They are in an "Adapt or Die" situation.  Those changes will envolve huge amounts of new Energy Storage.

I am listing a couple of links below for reference.  The first one defines what Distributed Resource Energy means and the second one is a view of DRE from the perspective of the Utility industry... the power companies. Why is all of this important and why is it related to Lithium?  In my opinion it illustrates the full parameter of why Energy Storage will need to expand to a very significant degree as we progress further into the 21st century.  These materials are not intended as "homework" or even for you to read over in any depth.  Just know that they are here as a Reference, strictly a reference that you might want to pull up at some later date to look over more closely. 

To study them arduously now would probably give new meaning to the word: "boring".
