This is quite interesting development. It just signals, that the million miles battery based on LFP chemistry was another PR stunt from Tesla and will only be used in China. So much for the "cobalt free" batteries.

But still, why is Tesla signing all these contracts, while not producing any batteries? It is very hard to imagine, that Panasonic will buy Cobalt from Tesla to make cells

Those 12 mil pounds of Cobalt is good for aproximately 450k cars.
