Good point, Bill. I have been looking at the management presentation every month, but not recently, because of the DFS release. The june 2020 management presentation just hit me a bit:

  • Cauchari-Olaroz to be completed another year later - mid 2021. they must have been late prior Covid already.
  • DFS TP to be published "mid 2020" - assume that this is an acronym for "sometimes during Q3", IMHO, they keep it as a good news of their Q2 results release.
  • Despite 40% completed/70% capex spent/commited, still claim, that money are no issue to last till the start. I have to look at that once Q2 results published.
  • Production costs nearing $4/kg, while still keeping the unrealistic $12/kg price, they wont make promised $300mil/year from this project
  • They will be definitely flooded by salt, as the only portion working at the moment are the ponds.

Thacker Pass:

  • release of the DFS was moved to "mid Q3", I guess, they have forgotten to update the summary page 3.
  • construction to be started in Q121 - no change there.

I should have checked this page earlier, in that case I would have joined John E and sold my stake into the last rally. Also, from perspective of new timing, the Tesla talks are BS. Thacker Pass will not deliver any volume prior 2025, more likely closer to 2030. By then, Musk will already be the resident on Mars.

So, net net, LAC does not trade on fundamentals, but on TSLA hype. since it is not as popular as TSLA, the new highs will be followed by lows. I agree with Bill, $7-5/share trading range till further notice.
