Joe Lowry's Episode #71 The Lithium Last Mile Problem
He discusses the evolutionary process of what lithium producers have responded to the challenge presented by the battery producers who are making batteries specifically for EVs. Some producers have forged ahead with the same level of lithium purity that they had 10 years ago and others have adjusted their quality levels higher and higher in order to compete in that "Last Mile", the last 0.5% of purity.
I recommend that you tune in at the 24:00 minute mark and continue on to the 35:00 mark as a minimum, especially if you are not interested in listening to the whole podcast. Those 9 minutes are the focus on what lithium mining companies have floundered in this race to improve the quality of lithium sold to the battery makers and which ones have moved on and accepted the challenge of higher standards as required to make the best batteries for EVs.
If the topic interests you then don't wait too long. I believe that they only leave individual episodes up on the podcast site for a limited time and then delete them.
