Message: NNO.V is this the company

Yup... that's the right company.

Here are a few more tidbits.

From Sept. 9 Press Release regarding adding Robert Morris as an advisor:

Nano One's latest technology eliminates the need for metal sulfates from refiners and reduces costly and environmentally sensitive waste streams in cathode production.

Mr. Morris said, "There is a tremendous opportunity to further optimize the global supply chain for the critical metals required for today's lithium ion batteries. In addition to bringing important efficiencies to the supply chain, Nano One's technology has the capability to significantly reduce the waste stream associated with processing these metals in the production of cathode active materials."

Mr. Morris joins a strong team of strategic advisors at Nano One including Joe Lowry, Gord Kukec and Dr. Byron Gates.

Notes:

  • I believe the elimination of metal sulfates is what may be driving LAC to rethink their DFS.  This has to do with their battery production plans which involves sulfates.
  • Notice the involvement of Joe Lowry in Nano One

From Aug. 10 press release regarding Nano One's entering into a joint development with an unspecified multi-billion dollar global cathode producer:

“We are thrilled to be working with a highly respected cathode producer who shares Nano One’s vision to develop and launch a disruptive cathode business,” said Mr. Blondal. “This is a defining moment in our evolution and an important milestone in the advancement of our business.”

Under this JDA, the parties will jointly develop and evaluate cathode materials made with combined technologies, including Nano One's patented One-Pot process for the production of high-performance coated single crystal cathode powders. The JDA also provides a framework to develop a business plan for the commercialization of these jointly developed materials. The potential outcomes of the JDA include formation of a joint venture, licensing of Nano One's technology and or further joint development work.

Notes:

  • The last sentence opens the door to not only selling cathode materials to potential customers, but also further joint development work.   I'm not exactly sure how to interpret this, but it could mean looking at the involvement of raw materials suppliers, of which lithium is an important component.
