Message: NNO.V is this the company

Thanks okiedo, I think the document I'm looking for just came out a couple of months ago.   This looks like the 2018 PFS.  Maybe I was looking at the wrong link.  Anyway.... I will find it.   I'd do it right now, but I still have a day job. ;)

I did a little investigation to see if I might be able to determine which cathode manufacturer NNO might be partnering with (and thus, who a potential LAC partner might be).   Please, again, take this with a grain of salt.   I'm just going where the publically available info is leading me, but I may be drawing invalid conclusions.

My best current guess is Sumitomo Corp. (Japan)

Here's what I know/deduce so far:

  • Sumitomo currently makes cathode materials for Panasonic that currently works with/supplies Tesla's batteries.
  • They have a current market cap of 14.46B
  • So Sumitomo meets the description of a global, multi-billion dollar, asian-but-not-china cathode producer as detailed by NNO.
  • Panasonic's days with Tesla are said to be numbered, as Tesla is working on next generation batteries w/ the likes of CATL, where CATL will provide cathode materials and Tesla will make their own batteries.   So... Sumitomo might be looking for a partner to get their cathode technology up to modern standards for solid-state batteries.
  • I can see why Sumitomo might not want their identity known right now.  They might piss off Tesla and/or Panasonic.
  • Joe Lowry's last business trip to Asia was to Japan in Feb. of 2020.   He put out a podcast "E58 Going Viral" about the visit.  Toward the end, he hints at some interesting information he has but says he won't be able to say anything publically about it for some time.   Could it be related to a deal between LAC/NNO/Sumitomo?
