Message: Ford is contemplating in house battery production in the future

https://insideevs.com/news/454390/ford-considering-in-house-production-batteries/

Kristen, on TOB, posted a comment that predicts Ford might be suitor for the future lithium production at LAC's Thacker Pass.  She seems to claim insider knowledge, or at least knowledge from DD.  Either way it is a speculation worthy of consideration since so many big automakers worldwide are diving into the battery making pool, as pointed out in the article I posted here from Inside Evs.com

If nothing else, speculation in the auto industry that Ford might be in need of domestic lithium suppliers does nothing but boost up additional speculation regarding all domestic lithium players, LAC being one of many.  The fact that Ford would even consider making its own lithium battery plant just emphasizes once again the momentum behind the auto manufacturing sector in general regarding the transmogrification of that industry from ICE to EV.  The cork has been let out of the bottle and you can't put this Genie back inside that old bottle of ICE.  Time marches on and the technology is moving more and more toward passenger, commercial and military uses of electric vehicles of all sorts.

Anyone else on this Hub have a line on Ford's possible change to in house lithium battery production?  If so, please post it!   Okiedo
