Message: Moscow, Russia. 1 Electric public bus starting in 2018. Now, Moscow has 500 Electric buses.

Lithium Titanate batteries are the type being used in the EV buses in Moscow.  Advantages include the ability to take high voltage fast charging, long life and the best safety record of all lithium batteries.  This little video explains it all, linked below.  They are niche batteries and not suitable for all applications, but bus transport is an ideal part of the EV market for these batteries.  All the different types of lithium batteries have their own particular niche depending upon their life cycle capability, voltage output, energy density, power density and safety parameters and these differ greatly from one type of lithium ion battery to another... something that is often neglected by the popular press in their tendency to lump all types of lithium batteries together.  Those who are truly interested in lithium batteries, and that includes all members of this Hub, will find it beneficial to not be mislead by the popular press and ignorant journalists too lazy to research these differences.  Okiedo
