The only issue with that is, that it is nothing more than a dream. Unless your property is quite large and you cover it all by solar panels, this is not going to fly.
And the fact, that so many Californians do buy into it, means, that lot of people there are insanely rich, so they do not care, or lot of them is quite silly, not able to determine the non-existent return on such investment.
