Yes, US Americans use a lot of electricity. East of the 100th meridian (not the case for NV), the Gulf of Mexico pumps out vast amounts of humidity in the summer, making A/C a major draw for the solar panels. But at our place there's still some generated power left for the rest of the appliances and, if timed right, a charge for a car.
