I think it's a great stopgap for legacy ICE vehicles, especially expensive ones whose owners can afford the huge price premium such a fuel will have over regular gasoline let alone electricity. And of course EVs have exponentially fewer moving parts to maintain, already have lower lifteime costs, and should reach purchase price parity in the very near future. I don't think this will slow down the switch to EVs at all.
