JDubski was the one on this Hub who earlier posed a question about how would LAC weather the legal challenges recently that were given notice of filing on environmental grounds against LAC.

Over on TOB Moe posted, yesterday, some interesting comments and a link to a PR going back to 11 February 2021 from "The Center for Biological Diversity".  Both Moe's post and the link provide by Moe have a direct reference to this ongoing situation.  If you haven't seen Moe's post and/or haven't viewed that PR from "The Center for Biological Diversity", then you might want to update you knowledge base on the continuing saga of the Sage Grouse and the environmentalist who are the champions of the Sage Grouse.

Moe: "The rancher actually hasn't filed yet, it was a 60 day notice of intent to sue. The other concern would be the court decision which invalidated Gunnison Sage Grouse (GSG) analysis in BLM plans, including the one that covers Thacker Pass. Will BLM revisit or suspend approvals that were based on those plans? The GSG actually are not in the mine site area, but are very closeby, and the court decision said buffer area and indirect effects weren't done correctly in the BLM RMPs."

"The court’s decision does not immediately reinstate the 2015 mining ban, but provides the Bureau of Land Management a second chance to evaluate appropriate protections for sagebrush focal areas in light of scientific evidence. This is the latest in a series of legal defeats for Trump administration’s efforts to undermine conservation measures for sage grouse habitat on public lands."
