Not much doubt that Ganfeng, as a Chinese company, would be interested in financing a battery company.  Any perfunctory view of Chinese geopolitical strategy in Latin America and South America cleary illustrates the desire of China to endear itself to nearly all of the countries south of the Rio Grande.  Time had a recent article that at least touches on this move and is linked below, but the economic entanglement of China into South America is certainly not a new development.  Ganfeng's presence in Argentina would be commensurate with the larger aims of its parent country and expansion of the economic relationship in Argentina by Ganfeng just makes sense... for China.
