What I don't understand is the way the protesters are going about the protests. If there are so many sensitive species of animals on thacker pass that can't live with human activity in the area, then why are they camped out up there and inviting a large group of people to come into the middle of these animals homes? Wouldn't that in fact have the same effect of running the animals like the sage grouse out?  Wouldn't it be better to protest somewhere else if you really believed that was a sensitive fragmented habitat for so many species?
