I forgot to mention the obvious advantage, at least from Max's perspective, the hand powered fans require ZERO electricity and ZERO lithium.  Max just has to provide food and drink to the human fan "motors" in order to comply with his anti-industrial civilization motif.  Lots of Luck, Max.
