Scientists predict downward trend in lithium-ion battery costs - MINING.COM
A comparative study published by researchers at the University of Münster states that battery costs are expected to continue to decline, even under pessimistic raw material price scenarios.
According to the lead author of the study, Lukas Mauler, lithium-ion batteries have not yet reached their cost limit and the regression of system cost expectations shows a reduction to $70 per kilowatt-hour by 2050 – about half of today’s market prices
