One point of interest regarding your comments about potential stoppage of work if remains are found: it is my understanding that the archeological work would be happening spread out all over the place (with a combined total of that 0.3 acre figure you mentioned). This would mean they could stop doing anything around that one particular trench or hand dug hole and continue the work around the rest of the site.
