Rely on our allies,eh? That may be "progressively" more difficult to do.  At the same time we do see evidence that other countries are moving toward the goal of energy independence.  Quite a contrast in philosophy and, more importantly, in the repercussions for the domestic mining industry in those countries and in our own.  JMO
