Message: The future of nuclear power in the US

The question of where all of the electricity will come from to power all of these EVs being produced has been kicked around from time to time on this forum, with some believing we're in for a train wreck and others believing that innovation will ultimately facilitate the large-scale adoption.

Nuclear power will have to be part of solution, and despite the challenges around nuclear reactors such as expense, operational safety and waste disposal, the US seems to be on track to begin serious consideration of expanding its nuclear power capacity, as addressed in this article. I think it will be much more palatable if it comes in smaller packages such as TerraPower's.

There are already some improvements to the US power grid considered in the latest infrastructure bill, and further improvements will of course need to be made, but I remain confident that as EV adoption grows, the jurisdictions that are leading the way will innovate to meet the infrastructure demands.
