Under the Electric Vehicle Batteries section the administration reiterated its support for sustainable and responsible lithium mining, and took credit for issuing a permit for Thacker Pass (the only specific project named). Not sure to which permit they are referring, except maybe the small excavation permit issued by the BLM? It's nice they didn't emphasize again relying on allies for lithium, although because of the lack of current US production this will de facto be the case for a number of years. 

This is a pretty clear signal that the administration is not neutral when it comes to Thacker Pass.
