Zephyr Cove, what a nice little spot on Lake Tahoe. Been there many times and it is a relief to be away from the big hotel casinos of South Lake. I am sure you enjoyed your time there.
Eric Marks, a Reno photojournalist wrote a piece in a paid subscription rag about this and I would guess he might have something to do with the billboard. At the least, he describes the groups. I haven't subscibed to the source publication but you can find it on the following link:

One interesting aside is the piece recently published by Will Falk titled: Update from Thacker Pass and dated 14 July 2022. Mr. Falk predicts his side will lose in this legal contest, but he takes solace in what he describes has become a successful delaying tactic by opposition forces to the construction of the LAC Thacker Pass lithium Clay Mine.
Mr, Falk:
"When Max Wilbert and I founded the protest camp in Thacker Pass (Peehee mu’huh in Paiute) back on January 15, 2021, we wanted to offer something like a real-time commentary on our day-to-day organizing efforts to share the lessons we learned during this campaign with the broader movement. We also wanted to show that there’s nothing magical in starting a campaign like this. We decided we were going to devote our lives to stopping that mine and figure it out as we went.
I’m coming up for air and wanted to share a couple thoughts."
Later in the same article he ruminates: "I’m not writing this to make anyone feel guilty. I’m trying to start an honest and frank conversation about why the environmental movement is losing so badly."

I suspect this is a little bit of reverse psychology on the part of Mr. Falk and that his somber reflections and predictions for ultimate failure of the Stop Thacker Pass movement were, on the contrary, intended to rally the troops for one last stand against the dreaded windmill in their minds. As Don Quixote sallied forth to joust against the opposition windmills, Falk must have hoped to recruit hundreds or thousands of fellow Quixote types to plug all the holes in their sinking boat and/or demolish all the windmills in his path.
Just supposition on my part, I have no proof of what is in the mind of this attorney, but my hope is that his dismal predictions will have more validity for the future of Thacker Pass than any alternative contradistinction goal he may cherish for as a turn of the tide.
On the surface of his most recent tome it would appear that he has nearly given up, but that is most likely window dressing and "fluff".
Going back to statements from him and his partner in attacking Thacker Pass, Max Wilbert, it is important to not forget that one or both of them have laid claim in the past to seeking extrajudicial means to pursue their goals should they be turned down by the Court.
If you don't remember what Max Wilbert is like then read one of his fairly recent ramblings:

Max and Will are instrumental parts of the "Deep Green Resistance" and if you have forgotten what the DGR is then take a moment and peruse or scan, your choice, the following link to update your knowledge about one of the key organizations to resisting the success of LAC at Thacker Pass:

Just keep in mind that should LAC succeed in the Court, as many of us expect it to succeed, this will not be the end of the battle for people like Max and Will nor will it be for those Native Americans who find themselves in opposition to the building of the mine at Thacker Pass.
As for Native Americans, the community has some division on this issue with some in favor of the jobs and other benefits that LAC could bring to their community and others with real and serious opposition to LAC, regardless of any other factors. My contention is that LAC needs to respect the members of both sides in the Native American community because a 40 plus year mine life is a long time to maintain less than ideal relationships with ones' neighbors. It would be much better to follow the lead of Alexi Zawadzki, President of LAC's North American Operations and become that "Good Neighbor" he aspires to be and has stated publicly in the past. That is the best goal for LAC in Nevada for the long run.
